6 – SETTING AT WORK, OPERATION
CHECK OF THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION
In the case of three-phase electric pumps it is necessary to check that the direction of rotation is correct, i.e. clockwise seen from
the top of the machine. To do this before installation, suspend the electric pump and start the motor for a few seconds (connection
and disconnection): if the direction of rotation is correct, the electric pump suffers a kickback in an anti-clockwise direction seen
from above. When carrying out this test, make sure that the machine is at a suitable distance from people, animals or things.
To change the direction of rotation, invert two phases of the power line.
For single-phase electric pumps it is not necessary to check the direction of rotation.
Repeat the check every time the motor is disconnected from the power supply.
ATTENTION!
PUT IN USE
Make sure that all the instructions and checks described above have been observed before starting the
pump. Check the correct operation of any safety or emergency devices provided in the system where the
pump will be installed.
To avoid damage to the pump it is recommended to:
ATTENTION!
Proceed as follows:
1. Keeping the on-off valve on the delivery closed: turn on the pump using the controls provided.
2. Slowly open the valve on the discharge until the desired flow rate is reached.
OPERATION CHECKS
After a period of time sufficient to reach the operating conditions, check that:
•
There are no vibrations or abnormal noises.
•
There are no fluctuations in the flow rate.
•
The current absorption of the motor does not exceed that indicated on the plate.
•
In the presence of even one of these conditions, stop the pump and investigate the cause.
STOPPING THE PUMP
•
Cut off the power supply to the pump motor with the commands provided for this purpose by the pump management
system
7 – MAINTENANCE
Any intervention on the electric pumps must be carried out by specialized personnel equipped with
adequate preparation and special equipment.
Before carrying out any operation, disconnect the pump power supply making sure that it cannot be
restored: remove or keep the plug socket under control so that it cannot be reconnected by third parties.
Close all the valves located on the delivery pipe. Remove any liquid spills on the ground before operating
in order to avoid the risk of slipping and falling. Follow all the safety regulations listed in the previous
paragraphs and those pertaining to the country in which you operate. The surfaces of the pump and motor
can reach high temperatures. Wait for them to cool down before intervening. Use the appropriate
individual protections before proceeding with maintenance.
DO NOT MAKE MODIFICATIONS TO THE PRODUCT WITHOUT ASKING FOR AUTHORIZATION FROM THE
MANUFACTURER. PENALTY THE FORFEITURE OF THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY AND LIABILITY FOR
SAFETY PURPOSES.
If the liquid treated by the pump is harmful to health, it is essential to observe the following warnings:

• do not run the pump "dry" (without liquid).
• do not operate the pump with the discharge gate valve completely closed.
• Wear the protective devices and follow the instructions provided in the product technical sheet;
• The liquid must be collected with care and disposed of in compliance with the regulations in
force.
• The pump must be washed internally and externally disposing of any residues as mentioned
above.
