Loosen Jam Nuts "А" and "В", Figure 22.

Jack up the rear of the tractor so that the wheels can be
rotated by hand to feel the brake drag. (Do not run
engine.) Open free-wheeling valves according to instruc-
tions on page 7.
2.
Tighten the two hex nuts on one disc brake pad assembly
to adjust the brakes. See Figure 21. Adjust the two nuts
evenly, while rocking the wheel back and forth gently until
the brakes just start to drag. From that point, back each
nut off 1/8 turn.
3.
Adjust brake on opposite wheel in the same fashion.

STEERING GEAR ADJUSTMENT
1.
Raise front of tractor so that the tires clear the ground and
are in the straight forward position.
2.
Remove cotter pin identified in Figure 22.
4.
Tighten adjusting plug, Figure 22, to 4-6 ft. Ibs. of torque.

Нок jam nut and turn adjusting screw, Figure 22 "ІМ"
(clockwise)
until backlash
is removed
from
steering
wheel. This procedure must be done at the position where
wheels are straight forward. DO NOT FORCE ADJUSTING
SCREW. Torque jam nuts 35-45 ft. Ibs. while holding ad-
justing screw in position.
