The DPI610E (Table 1) is a handheld pressure calibrator.
This has a manual pump to supply pressure and can do
electrical measurement and simulation. The instrument
type is either Intrinsically Safe (IS) and Non-Intrinsically
Safe (Non-IS) (See Table 1). The instrument is to be used
to calibrate pressure sensors and transmitters by service or
maintenance engineers. The DPI610E-A is for use in the
Aerospace industry, to do tests on Pitot and Static systems.
Note: The information that follows, relates to all types in the
above table, unless it relates to one type of instrument.

use when the procedures in this manual are
followed. Users must read and obey all local
Health and Safety regulations and Safe
Working Procedures or Practices.
INFORMATION
flow rate limiter to prevent damage to
sensitive Rate of Climb instruments. The
maximum altitude change is controlled to
below +/-6000 feet per minute.
Note: Before the first use of this instrument, read and
understand the Safety section, user manual and all
instructions.This includes: applicable local safety
procedures, installation standards, and this document.
Note: Installation must be done by approved equipment
installation technicians. All local safety procedures and
installation standards must be obeyed. For example:
IEC/EN 60079-14, US National Electrical Code NFPA 70 or
Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
Note: The DPI610E is safe when the procedures in this
manual are used to operate it. It is dangerous to ignore the
warnings. Do not use this instrument for other purposes
than those given in this chapter. The ability of the
instrument to give protection can decrease if it is not used
correctly.
Note: External electrical systems must have applicable
isolation to mains voltages.

WARNING
Some liquid and gas mixtures
are dangerous. This includes mixtures that
occur because of contamination. Make sure
that the DPI610E is safe for use with the
medium or media.
Do not use tools on the DPI610E that can
cause incendive sparks - an explosion can
occur.
WARNING
Do not use with media that has
an oxygen concentration > 21 % or other
strong oxidizing materials.
This instrument has materials or fluids that
can degrade or become flammable in the
presence of strong oxidizing agents.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
connect more than 30V CAT I between the
terminals or between the terminals and the
ground (earth). This is to prevent electrical
shocks or damage to the instrument.
Connections must be compatible with the
terminal input/output parameters. For an
expanded explanation, see "Over-voltage
categories" on page 3.
WARNING
This instrument uses a Lithium-
ion (Li-ion) battery. The battery is not user
serviceable. To prevent an explosion or fire,
do not short circuit, do not disassemble, and
keep it safe from damage.
To prevent an explosion or fire, use only the
Druck specified power supply/charger (Part:
IO610E-PSU).
To prevent battery leakage/damage or excess
heat generation, only use the mains power
supply in the ambient temperature range 0 to
40°C (32 to 104°F). The power supply input
range is 90 – 264 Vac, 50 to 60Hz, 300-600mA,
installation category CAT II.
To prevent a dangerous release of pressure:
make sure that all the related pipes, hoses and
equipment have the correct pressure rating.
They must also be safe to use and correctly
attached. Isolate and bleed the system before
you disconnect a pressure connection.
CAUTION
The power supply must be in a
location that gives quick and easy access to
the supply disconnection device.
Always use applicable eye protection for work
with pressurized devices.
Note: Maximum Operating Pressure (MWP) is given on the
label on the bottom of the DPI610E. Over-pressure to be
limited to 1.2 × MWP.
WARNING
It is dangerous to attach an
external source of pressure to a DPI610E. Use
only the internal mechanisms to set and
control pressure in the instrument.
