It is possible to attach the external Ambu ECG-Box to the manikin. To attach the external
Ambu ECG-Box lift the skin of the manikin on the left shoulder and remove the black cable
from the connector (8.1). Plug in the cable from the external Ambu ECG-Box to the
connector (8.2).
Further detailed information about the functionality of external Ambu ECG-Box can be
found in the Directions for use for the Ambu ECG-Box.
NOTE: If the external Ambu ECG-Box is attached the CPR-Software will not display the
ECG-Signal in the graph window of the software.
6.6. I.V. Trainer (optional)
The I.V. Trainer enables practicing placement of an infusion cannula and insertion of fluid
(Distilled Water).
Further detailed instructions can be found in the Directions for use for the Ambu I.V. Trainer.
NOTE: During transport the fluid inside the I.V. Trainer must be drained off.
Only use distilled water when filling the I.V. Trainer and when simulating infusion and
injection, otherwise the tubes simulating veins and arteries become sticky and the
material will decompose.
During storage between training sessions the I.V. Trainer must be covered or placed in the
carrying case together with the Ambu Cardiac Care Trainer. The tubes simulating veins and
arteries and the skin are made of natural latex. The arm must therefore not be exposed to
sunlight or other U.V. (ultra-violet) rays as the material will become sticky and decompose.

7. Cleaning

7.1 Cleaning of skull, neck and body
The skull, face piece, neck and body can be wiped over with a cloth moistened in a mild
detergent and then wiped over once more using a cloth moistened in clean water.
When washing, never allow detergent or water to enter the skull, body or instrument unit.
If necessary, cover the connection between body and instrument unit with a cloth.
Marks on the manikin left by lipstick or ball pen can penetrate the material and should
therefore be removed as quickly as possible using alcohol.
7.2 Cleaning of clothing
The tracksuit is made of 50 % cotton and 50 % polyester and is washable at max. 40° C (104° F).
7.3 Cleaning of suitcase
The suitcase can be cleaned using a mild detergent with a cloth or soft brush, rinsed in clean
water, and then dried off.
