Pair the Advanced GPS Navigation System to a Single Talon
The Advanced GPS Navigation system is paired to the Talon using the trolling motor Control Head and the Up
on the Talon Indicator Panel. Before pairing the Talon to the trolling motor, ensure the Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless Remote is
paired to the trolling motor. The Talon is paired to the trolling motor but controlled by the Wireless Remote, which must also pair to
the trolling motor. Find instructions on how to pair the Wireless Remote to the trolling motor in the Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless
Remote Owner's Manual online at minnkota.johnsonoutdoors.com. For trolling motors equipped with Advanced GPS Navigation, also
find instructions to pair the Wireless Remote in the Quick Start Guide included with the trolling motor.

a. Retract the anchor on the Talon by pressing the
Up button on the Indicator Panel.
b. With the Talon retracted, press and hold the Up
button and the Down
the Indicator Panel. The Depth Indication LEDs
will begin to flash blue. Release the buttons on the
Indicator Panel when the LEDs are flashing. The
Talon will go into Pairing Mode for 20 seconds.
c. Power up the trolling motor.
d. Locate the Pair
Head. Push and hold the Pair
Control Head will emit a consistent tone and scan
for the Talon.
e. If a signal with three fast beeps occurs, the Talon
and Control Head have successfully paired. The
LEDs on the Indicator Panel of the Talon will perform
a sequence to confirm that the Control Head and
Talon are paired.
f. If 20 seconds pass while in Pairing Mode and the Talon
and Control Head do not successfully pair, a chirp
will sound, signaling that the Pairing has timed out.
g. If the Pair is unsuccessful, repeat the process.
Pairing with Two Talons
To pair a remote or device with two Talons, the two Talons must first pair with each other. To pair two Talons, follow the instructions in the
"Pairing Two Talons and Programming the Mounting Location" section. With two Talons paired, pair the device or remote to one of the
Talons. Follow the directions to pair with a device, remote, or the Advanced GPS Navigation System for a single Talon. Pair the Talon with a
foot or stomp switch using the pairing instructions provided with these accessories.
