Troubleshooting
Problem: The tape does not stick.
Possible Cause:
1. The water bottle is empty.
2. The water hose is clogged.
3. The brush is dirty.
4. There is not enough pressure on the brush.
5. The water temperature is too low.
6. The water level in the brush tank is too low.
Problem: The tape slips on the cartons.
Possible Cause:
1. The water level in the brush tank is too high.
2. The water temperature is too high.
Problem: The tape slips at the feed wheel.
Possible Cause:
1. The tension of the measuring head spring is set
incorrectly.

Solution:
1. Fill the water bottle approximately 2/3 full and make
sure the water level in the brush tank is filled to the
correct level for your specific operating procedure
and environment. For details concerning the correct
water level see page 11.
2. Clean the hose by removing the brush tank and the
water regulator and flush them with clear water.
3. Clean the brush. See page 21.
4. The pressure pad weight must be positioned
correctly to press the tape against the brush. For
information on adjusting the pressure pad weight,
see page 15.
5. Adjust the water temperature. See page 17.
6. Adjust the water level in the brush tank. See page
13.

1. Adjust the water level in the brush tank. See page

2. The water temperature must be set according to the
kind of tape you are using and the environment that
you are working in. To adjust the thermostat to the
correct setting, see page 17.
Solution:
1. The tension of this spring controls the amount of
pressure exerted on the tape by the feed wheel.
There are two settings for the measuring head
spring. To adjust the setting of this spring, see page
45.
