Troubleshooting
Problem: The motor is running slowly and not feeding or cutting the tape at its normal
rate of speed.
Possible Cause:
1. The motor switch may not be adjusted correctly.
2. The motor and/or the capacitor is not working
properly.

Solution:
1. Move the machine to a quiet area. Test the motor
switch by pulling the shift yoke and listening for a
click. If a click is heard, then the motor switch is
functioning correctly.
2. Test the motor and the capacitor by applying a small
amount of pressure to the measuring head as you
cut a length of tape. If the machine stops and will
not feed the tape, the motor and capacitor need to
be replaced. See page 51.
