Cross-cut

► Position the limit stop (1) against the branch.
The saw chain can be positioned precisely
using the gauge bar.
► With the chain running at full speed, press the
guide bar downward against the limb with a
leveraging movement.
► Cut through the limb with the bottom of the
guide bar.

► If the limb is under tension: Make the relieving
cut (1) into the compression side and then per‐
form the bucking cut (2) from the tension side.
Cutting thick branches

► Perform a relieving cut (2) at cutting point (2)
at a distance a = 20 cm from the final cross cut
(1).
► Perform a relieving cut and then a cross cut at
the desired cutting point (1).
