1. INTENDED USE

- Measuring and displaying electric parameters in the range of overvoltage category CAT IV for up to 600 V or
CAT III for up to 1000 V against earth potential, pursuant to EN 61010-1 and all lower categories.
- Measurement of direct and alternating voltage up to 1,000 V
- Measurement of direct and alternating current up to 10 A
- Frequency measurement up to 4 MHz
- Scan rate display (duty factor) in %
- Capacity measurement up to 40 mF
- Measurement impedance values of up to 40 MΩ
- Continuity test (<50 Ω acoustic)
- Diode test
- Temperature measurement from -200 to +1,200 °C (with K-type thermal sensor)
- Alternating voltage measurement with low-pass filter (HFR)
- Measured value storage for 1,000 values.
- Measured value datalog for 20,000 values
- Data transfer per optical interface
The measurement functions are selected using the rotary control. The measuring range is selected automatically for
all measuring functions. Manual setting is possible at any time.
The VC950 multimeter shows actual effective measured values (True RMS) in the direct and alternating voltage and
current measuring ranges.
Polarity is automatically indicated with the prefix (-) if the measured values are negative.
The two current measuring inputs are secured against overload with ceramic high-performance fuses.
The voltage in the current measuring circuit must not exceed 1,000 V in CAT III or 600 V in CAT IV.
The multimeter is operated with four common mignon batteries (type AA). The device must only be operated with
the specified battery type. If the device is not used for approx. 30 minutes, it is automatically switched off too prevent
premature emptying of the battery. When the interface is active, this function is switched off.
The multimeter must not be operated when it is open, i.e. with an open battery compartment or when the battery
compartment cover is missing.
Measuring in damp rooms or under unfavourable ambient conditions is not permitted. Unfavourable ambient conditions
are: Moisture or high humidity, dust and flammable gases, fumes or solvents, thunderstorms or thunderstorm conditions
like strong electrostatic fields, etc.
Only use measuring lines or accessories adjusted to the specifications of the multimeter when measuring.
Any use other than that described above damages the product. Moreover, this is linked to dangers such as short
circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product must be modified or converted!
Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.
Always observe the safety information!
