3. Using the sensor for the first time

Once you have completed all the steps as
described in the Installation section, the
LiPo SAVER 2...6S is ready for use with the basic

default settings.

· First switch your transmitter on.
· The balancer plug attached to your battery must first
be connected to the balancer socket.
· Connect the flight battery to your speed controller.
· The LiPo SAVER initially checks the state of the indi-
vidual battery cells, and generates a percentage at
Address 2 reflecting the battery's state of charge. If
the battery you connect is at less than 80% of a full
charge, the sensor generates a telemetry warning.
· After a few seconds - or (-60A version) after
measuring a current rise caused by the motor
starting up, the sensor displays the lowest of the
individual battery cell voltages.
4. Default settings
The LiPo SAVER 2...6S is set up by default to the
following settings:
Individual cell voltage address
Alarm after start-up at cell voltage
Overall voltage address
Battery type
Early warning threshold
Current address (external)
If you wish to change any of these configuration
settings, it will be necessary to re-configure the
sensor.
In this case please continue with the section
entitled "Configuration".
The LiPo monitor is now active:
· If any individual cell voltage falls below the user-
variable early warning threshold, the sensor
generates a telemetry warning.
· If the battery voltage falls to the absolute low-voltage
threshold (variable according to battery type - default
setting: LiPo - 3.1 Volt), then the sensor generates a
telemetry warning. To help you differentiate between
the warnings, the absolute warning is displayed with
a minus ("-") prefix.
· The LiPo SAVER 2...6S 60A version also displays the
current flowing at Address 3, and battery capacity
already consumed at Address 4.
Important note!
After each flight you must always disconnect the LiPo
SAVER completely from the battery: first disconnect the
battery from the speed controller, then withdraw the
balancer plug from the LiPo SAVER.
The additional settings of the
LiPo SAVER 2...6S - 60A are as follows:
