e) Inspecting the Ship Propeller
Check the ship's propeller and its counter-nut for tight fit and damage before any voyage. A damaged ship's propeller
must be replaced before operation. If this is not observed, the ship's propeller may come loose unintended or break
apart in operation. There is a danger of further damage to your model. The model will also no longer be controllable.
On the ship's propeller, also observe further information in the chapter „Replacing the Ship's Propeller".
Attention!
The ship propeller is very sharp-edged and may cause injury and/or property damage when handling, replacing
and in operation!
f) Inspecting the Rudder System
Figure 2 shows the rudder (1), the attachment
screws of the rudder (2), the rod connection for the
linkage rods (3), the connection of the water cooling
(4) and the entry openings of the water cooling (5).
For the first drive, the rudder (1) must be installed
with two threaded screws (M3 x 15 mm and M4 x
15 mm) at the rudder system. The rudder system is
installed to the boat body with four threaded screws
(M4 x 15).
Plug the linkage rods into the linkage connection
for this (3).
Switch your remote control on and put the steering
servo to the neutral position. Adjust the rudder in
the neutral position as well.
Now fasten the linkage rods with the hexagon socket
screw (3) of the linkage connection.
Check the function of the rudder linkage. For this, observe the notes in the following chapter „Model Commissioning".
Finally, the hoses for water cooling (4) must be pushed on.
Check the rudder system and its linkage for tight fit and damage before any voyage. A damaged or loose
linkage/attachment (e.g. loose screws, see figure 2, items 2 and 3) must be repaired before the voyage. If
this is not observed, the linage rods and/or rudder system may come loose unintended in operation.
There is a danger of further damage to your model (e.g. the steering servo blocks). The model will also no
longer be controllable and may cause uncontrollable damage there. Also observe the following information
in the chapter „Model Commissioning".
„Metal/metal" screw connections must be secured against unintended loosening either with so-called stop
nuts or with a drop of thread locker varnish.
