5. Operating instructions
VZE/VZEA electronic register
Recording of measured values is ensured once the register has been activated by pressing briefly on the button when starting opera-
tion for the first time. From then on, only the display is switched off to save power.
Display
About 30 minutes after the button is pressed for the last time, the display will be switched off. It then gives a short SLEEP signal
every 5 seconds. The display is switched back on again by pressing the button once.
Receiving data
Save all data periodically, and each time the button is pressed, in the non-volatile memory (EEPROM).
Changing the battery
Every 5 years. There is no time limit for changing the battery; however, no measurements are performed while the power supply is
interrupted.
Battery type
CR 1 / AA or CR2, available from specialised shops or photography shops.

Battery lifetime
Approximately 6 years with normal operation, when the digital flow rate display is switched on for a maximum of 10 hours.
Operating logic
In the basic position, the device is in the user level with the display showing the total counter, resettable counter, flow rate in digital
value and segment test. The service level is accessible from the total counter by pressing the button for at least 8 seconds. After the
last parameter on the service level, there is a forced
return to the user level.
User level
The bar diagram corresponds to the measuring range of the meter. It shows the flow rate in steps of 5 percent of Q
Commissioning
1. The operating instructions below should be followed for a flow meter. The nominal width has been permanently set in the factory
for calibration purposes.
2. If an electronic register is obtained as a spare part, the following steps must be performed at first:
• Activate it by briefly pressing the button
• Go to service level
• Set the nominal width for the meter
• Set the desired display unit
• Press the button again briefly to return to the user level
• The register is now coordinated with the meter and is ready for operation.
• Continue as described in the operating instructions below.
