7. Mode settings
7.2. AUTO mode
AUTO mode can adapt the pump operation to the current heat require-
ments. The adaptation to the system occurs gradually. Therefore, you
should allow AUTO mode approx. 5 to 7 days to adapt to a system be-
fore considering a change from AUTO mode to a different mode. If you
change back to AUTO mode, the last settings will be automatically
used. CPA-E pumps have a memory function like this. For more infor-
mation about pump settings and performance diagrams, please see
chapter 12.1.
7.3. Proportional pressure (BL) and constant pressure control (HD)
These two control modes determine the motor pump performance
and the corresponding power input through the heat demand of the
heating system.
Proportional pressure control (BL):
The differential pressure at both ends of the motor pump is
regulated by the flow rate. Fig. Q/H shows the proportional
pressure characteristic (BL 1-9).
See chapter 10.3.3
Constant pressure control (HD):
The differential pressure remains constant at both ends of the
motor pump. It does not change with the flow rate. Fig. Q/H
shows a horizontal constant pressure characteristic. It is the HD
characteristic (1-9).
See chapter 10.3.2
7.4. Constant speed
In this mode, a constant pump speed is specified.
