the height of the fall are reduced.
If LOVROPE is used for positioning or supporting the user, the user must always install a collective fall
arrest safety system (e.g., safety mesh) or an individual fall arrest safety system (fall arrest systems that are
compliant with EN 353.2).
PART NOMENCLATURE:
Materials: mainly aluminium allow, stainless steel and polyamide. The rope is made of polyamide 6.
See diagrams A and A bis.
WARNINGS:
> All activities that involve working at height need a preliminary risk assessment. It is mandatory to
minimize the fall factors, but also check the free space required under the user in the working area before
each possible use, so that in case of a fall, there is no risk of a ground fall, neither any obstacles on the
fall trajectory.
> Caution: do not affect the safety function of any of the devices by the safety function of other devices.
> A fall arrest harness is the only body protection device that can be used in a fall arrest system.
> All users must receive training, must acquire the competences of appropriate techniques, and must read
the technical notices beforehand. Observe all good practices and local and national regulations.
> Activities that involve working at height require physical abilities that are certified medically. These expose
the user to dangers that can cause severe injuries or death.
> If necessary, organise an emergency rescue and evacuation plan.
> You agree to personally take responsibility for all risks of damage, injury or death that can occur following
the incorrect use of the equipment, regardless of the form. If you cannot take this responsibility, do not
use this device.
> The equipment should not be used beyond its limits, nor in any other situation than its intended use.
INSPECTIONS, CHECKING POINTS:
WARNINGS:
In order to maintain the equipment safety level, by maintaining its resistance and efficiency, inspect the
device periodically (the frequency will be established based on its use, and must be of at least once per year),
and fill in the identification sheet available in the annex, or a copy.
Also, the user should perform an inspection of the equipment before each use and while using it, in order to
make sure it is usable and that it functions correctly.
Besides the permanent functional check, periodical inspections should only be performed by a competent
person, and strictly observing the following inspection operational modes:
Keep this notice and visit taz3d.fr for updates to this notice; keep the product identification sheet during the
entire life of the product. Control the readability of the markings on the product.
If any of the following damages occurs, the product must be retired or sent back to TAZ.
Signs of corrosion that affect the parts (the signs does not disappear if you try to lightly sand them).
Absence of the locking effect while suspended on the ropes. (test this aspect on all the rope diameters that
you use.)
Cracks in any of the parts and/or the following faults:
> The two plates come in contact forcefully at the attachment point.
40
> The mobile sheave does not move freely and/or there is a clearance on its axle.
> The fixed sheave has a clearance on the fixed plate.
> The clearance between the mobile sheave and the fixed plate is higher than 5 mm
> Clearance between the rivets and the fixed plate.
> The mobile plate is not locked by the head of the rivet
> The stoppers have a clearance.
Friction wear on the sheaves caused by the rope
> Degraded sheave guide grooves
> Holes in the sheave edges (hollow parts)
> The plates are perforated on the rope trajectory.
> Sharp edges or burrs that can damage the rope or injure the user.
> The handle fails to function.
> The operator's attachment point is thinner than 10 mm.
> The handle tip comes out of the mobile sheave.
> The locking cleat fails to function due to the spring – the device no longer locks on the rope in position.
> The functional test fails: Absence of locking effect while suspended on the ropes (test this aspect on all the
rope diameters that you use.); the handle is no longer functional.
> If the cleat, the handle or the spring fails, CONTACT TAZ.
Rope or stitches wear and tear: Pay special attention to the rope inspection and usage: the material the
rope is made of, polyamide, is very sensitive to cuts, friction, heat, UV rays, chemical products, solvents, paint,
fuel, and especially to acids (pay attention to batteries).
If any of the following damages occurs on the rope and/or its stitches, it must be retired or returned to TAZ.
> Visible signs of cuts or burns
> Yarns are coming out
> Visible non-identified stains
> No identification labels
> Lack of smoothness when handling it, breaking aspect
In case of a fall arrest, any element that makes up the system can be damaged. Therefore, retiring it is
mandatory.
The TAZ LOV.ROPE rope is available as a spare part.
If you remove the screw to change the rope or for inspection purposes, when reinstalling it, make sure to
tighten it to a maximum torque of 2.90N/m.
COMPATIBILITY
The only body protection devices allowed to be used with the product are a belt compliant with EN 358, or a
harness compliant with EN 813 or with EN 361 equipped with a belt compliant with EN 358. When attaching
the device on the harness or on the belt, and the rope in the anchor or on the harness, always use locking
carabiners, connectors compliant with EN 362.
Never use any other ropes than TAZ LOV.ROPE.
Always observe these requirements.
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
When the operator is suspended by the equipment via their harness, the tool tips over due to the load. The
rope pivots the mobile sheave, creating a clamping effect at the opposite end, between the two sheaves

in its groove.
