Field of application / operating principle
Shut-off valves (type 2140 / 2180) are used to shut off and / or restrict the flow of
media. Fit the shut-off valves in such a way that the spindle is vertical and the flow
medium enters beneath the cone. Turning the handwheel opens or closes the shut-
off valves (see handwheel OPEN and CLOSED).
Non-return valves (type 2142 / 2182) are designed for installation in pipelines and
prevent media from flowing back.
Dirt traps (type 2143 / 2183) protect against dirt and residues, and the media are
also filtered out by the dirt trap. The efficiency of the filtration depends on the mesh
width.
Refer to the manufacturer's data sheets for details on the scope of application of the
individual versions. When used for oxygen as a medium, the operating temperature
of 60°C and the operating pressure of 40 bar must not be exceeded. For acetylene
applications, check the suitability of the materials or consult the manufacturer.
Position indicator (type 2140 / 2180)
The position of the drive (stroke position) can be determined using the yellow visual
indicator (pos. 6). If the yellow visual indicator is visible, then the valve is open (A). If
the visual indicator is black, then the valve is closed (B). The OPEN / CLOSED visual
indicator settings are configured at the factory, but can also be adjusted or changed
entirely. To do this, open the two screws (pos. 7) slightly, turn the lower section up
or down using the central thread / extension tube (pos. 4) and tighten the screws
again (SW3).
