Installation Hints

 Install the unit in the engine compartment of your car with the
included cable ties and sheet-metal screws. Install it in a
position where it is protected from splashing and dirt.
 Conduct the wires in such a way that they can not come into
contact with moving or hot parts (such as exhaust or cooling
van).
Caution! A connection between the high-voltage plates and
the car body will cause a short circuit which will destroy the
unit.
Installation of the High-Voltage Plates
 Install the plates (4) in such a way that the metal side of the
plates (4) can not come into contact with electric components
or other parts of your vehicle. The mounting holes in the plates
(4) are intended for the cable ties or the sheet metal screws.
Make sure the head of the screw cannot come into contact
with the metal part of the plate (4). There is a danger of a short
circuit!
 Install the plates (4) in such a way that they are touched by a
marten when it enters the engine compartment. The shock is
triggered when the marten touches the car body and one of
the 6 high-voltage plates (4). If possible, mount the plate (4)
close to cables and hoses which are prone to marten attack.
 There is no danger of sparking, but it is advisable to keep a
distance of at least 5 mm between the cables and parts of the
vehicle's electric system.
Advice
If you run into problems when installing the marten shock, please
consult a car repair shop or our customer support.
