16. Troubleshooting
Review the information in the table below to troubleshoot operating problems.
PROBLEM
I. Optical Section:
LED does not light
LED operates, but field of view remains

SOLUTION
Connect into the power outlet
Set brightness to a proper level
Move the selector to BF position
Move the selector to the eye position
Move the selector to the eye position
Move the nosepiece to a click stop
Re-attach it
Push the slide dovetail all the way until
it is stopped
Centre the condenser
Open the field diaphragm until it cir-
cumscribes the field of view
Move the selector to BF position
Clean thoroughly
Open aperture diaphragm
Set the diaphragm according to Koe-
hler settings
Move the nosepiece to a click stop
Adjust aperture diaphragm
Use specimens without coverglass
Slide holder is not flat. Move the speci-
men to a flat position
Move the nosepiece to a click stop
Push slide dovetail all the way until it
is stopped
Re-attach it
Place specimen correctly on the stage
and secure it with slide holder
