STARTING UP AND REGULATION
1) Check that there is water in the boiler and that the system's
gate valves are open.
2) Make absolutely sure that the products of combustion can be
released freely (boiler and flue dampers must be open).
3) Check that the voltage of the electrical line corresponds to that
required by the burner. Electrical connections (motor and main
line) must be prepared for the voltage available. Check that all
electrical connections made on-site are performed correctly as
shown in our wiring diagram. Prevent the second flame from
functioning by disconnecting the 4 pole connector (16) in figure
(0002936140) for TBG 35P burners.
4) Adjusting power when switching on for the first time
- For the TBG 35 burner with manual adjustment, adjust the air
for the second flame on the basis of the instructions given in
the section entitled "Diagram for adjustment of air in the TBG
35 single-stage burner".
- For the TBG 35 burner, equipped with a electric servomotor,
position the gas flow regulation cam for the first flame at quite
a low open angle, around 15°-20° (0002936210). If it exists,
open the safety valve flow regulator completely.
4-a) Now switch on the supply line switch; the control equipment
thus receives voltage and the programmer causes the burner to
switch on as described in the chapter "Description of working".
During preventilation, make sure that the air pressure control
switch changes its status (from the closed position without
pressure measurement to the closed position with pressure
measurement). If the air pressure switch does not detect
sufficient pressure, the ignition transformer is not switched
on, nor are the gas valves, and so the equipment is stopped
in "lock-out" mode. On first switching on repeated "lock outs"
may occur due to:
a) The gas piping is not being freed of air correctly and so there
is not enough gas to provide a stable flame.
b) "lock out" with flame present may be caused by instability in
the ionisation area, due to an incorrect air/gas ratio. To solve
these problems it is necessary to adjust the flow of air in the
first flame. To do this unscrew the nut (1), adjust the opening
of the air shutter, loosening the screws (2): in a clockwise
direction the air flow increases, in an anti-clockwise direc-
tion the air flow decreases. Proceed with the regulation of
the air until a position is found which allows ignition without
resulting in blocking.
To guarantee the safe functioning of the burner, it is ad-
!
visable to unblock the nut (1) with the aid of a wrench or
counterwrench.
c) It may happen that the ionisation current is interfered with
by the discharge current of the ignition transformer (the two
currents have a common path on the burner's "mass") so
the burner gets locked out due to insufficient ionisation This
can be remedied by inverting the supply (230V side) of the
ignition transformer (swapping the two wires carrying voltage
to the transformer). This problem may also be caused by an
insufficient "ground connection" from the burner's casing.
5) Adjustment of second stage power.
Having completed regulating the first ignition, switch off the
burner and reconnect the previously disconnected 4 pole con-
nector. Ensure that the gas flow regulation cam
in the second stage of the electric servomotor
is positioned at 90°.
5-a) Switch the burner on again closing the master switch. The
burner will switch on automatically and activate the second
stage. With the aid of appropriate instruments, attend to the
regulation of the air and gas flow according to the procedures
subsequently described:
-To regulate the gas flow operate the valve regulator: to this
end consult the instructions related to the single stage gas
valve model installed. Avoid keeping the burner running if the
capacity is greater than the maximum permitted amount for
the boiler, or there is a risk it could be damaged
-To regulate the air flow, loosen nuts (3) and (3a), then
operating strap 5 with a wrench, adjust the rota-
tion angle of the air shutter into the correct position
to guarantee sufficient air flow for the power burned.
By extending strap 4 the air flow decreases, by shortening
strap 4 the air flow increases.
To guarantee the safe functioning of the burner, it is advis-
!
able to unblock nuts (3) and (3a) with the aid of a wrench
or counterwrench.
-Check the combustion parameters with appropriate instru-
ments (C0
max= 10%, O

6) Adjustment of first stage power.
Having finished regulating the burner in the second stage, put
the burner into the first stage without varying the regulation of
the gas valve already undertaken in point 5-a.
- Adjust the gas flow in the first stage to the desired values
operating the relative servomotor cam, as described in point 4.
-If necesary correct the comburent air supply adjusting the
screws (2) as described in point 4-a.
-Check the combustion parameters with appropriate instru-
ments (C0
max= 10%, O
