3.4.1 Routine annual inspection
To ensure the Q.R.K.'s efficiency and the
safety of the operators, the Q.R.K. must be
inspected as follows:
- The device is properly clean.
- The safety clip is in its place and has
not been deformed.
- The opening mechanism is working
properly, by doing a trial release.
- The closing mechanism is working
properly, by doing a trial reset.
- The play on the horizontal arm (B) does
not exceed 2 mm.
- The leaded cable to prevent unscrewing
is intact.
NOTE: The O.I. must be recorded in the identity handbook.
3.5 EXTRAORDINARY INSPECTION - E.I.
The Extraordinary Inspection (E.I.) must be
carried out by personnel in the department
authorised to do repairs, or by a competent
person, when the Q.R.K. has come into
contact with the substances indicated in
the table in point 3.1.
NOTE: The E.I. must be recorded in the identity handbook.
3.6 LIFESPAN LIMITS
Read point 2.1, commas b) and c) carefully.
The maximum lifespan (storage and use)
is unlimited from the date of manufacture,
provided that:
a) Maintenance and storage are carried
out as described in sections 4 and 5
respectively.

- There are not deformations or cracks in
the horizontal arm (B) and the anchoring
bracket (E).
- Wear on the anchoring bracket (E) and
the horizontal arm (B) does not go
further than the reference line (max 25%
of the original section).
If all the integrity and functionality
conditions are met, the Q.R.K. can be used.
If problems are encountered during use,
repeat the check after having cleaned and
lubricated the device. Should the faults
recur, the device must be inspected by
KONG S.p.A.
All parts that show signs of wear or that are
such that they cannot guarantee correct
functioning for the next 10 years will be
replaced. All tasks carried out will be
recorded in the identity handbook.
b) The inspections before and after
use and periodic inspections do not
indicate malfunction, deformation,
wear, etc.
c) The product is used correctly.
