Defrosting

Refrigerator compartment

• Defrosting occurs automatically when the appliance is in operation. The melt water is
collected in the evaporation tray and evaporates automatically. The evaporation tray and
the melt water drain hole should be cleaned regularly with the cleaning rod provided to
prevent water accumulating in the bottom of the refrigerator.

Freezer compartment

Frost accumulated in the freezer compartment must be removed from time to time. (Use the
plastic scraper provided) The freezer compartment should be cleaned in the same way as
the refrigerator compartment, at the same time as defrosting the compartment at least twice
a year.
To do this:
• The day before defrosting set the thermostat to the "5" position to freeze the food
completely.
• The frozen food should be wrapped in several layers of paper and stored in a cold place
during defrosting. The inevitable increase in temperature will reduce their shelf life. You
must use this food within a short period of time.
• Set the thermostat knob to the "•" position or unplug the appliance. Leave the door open
until the defrosting is complete.
• To accelerate the defrosting process, you can place one or two bowls of hot water in the
freezer compartment.
• Thoroughly dry the inside of the appliance and adjust the thermostat knob to MAX.
