• Never put hot food in the refrigerator. Hot food must first cool to room temperature and
be arranged so that there is adequate air circulation inside the compartment.
• Nothing inside the refrigerator should touch the back wall to avoid frost sticking to the
packaging. Avoid opening the refrigerator door too frequently.
• Place meat and cleaned fish (wrapped in packaging or plastic bags) in the bottom section
of the refrigerator compartment (above the vegetable crisper) as this compartment is the
coldest and will provide the best storage conditions for consumption within two days.
• You can put fruit and vegetables in the vegetable crisper without wrapping them up.
Important note:
• Cover all cooked dishes when you place them in the refrigerator. Place them in the
refrigerator when they have cooled, otherwise the temperature/humidity inside the
appliance could increase and cause a malfunction. Covering food and drink also helps
to preserve their flavour and aroma.
• Do not store potatoes, onions and garlic in the refrigerator.
• To maintain an optimum storage temperature inside the refrigerator compartment, avoid
any contact between food and the temperature sensor.
Freezer compartment
• The freezer is used for storing frozen or deep-frozen foods for long periods of time and
for making ice.
• To freeze fresh meat, ensure that the maximum possible surface area of the food to be
frozen is in contact with the cooling surface.
• Do not place fresh or warm food next to food that is already frozen. It could thaw the
frozen food.
• Before freezing fresh food (meat, fish and mince), divide them into single-use portions.
• When the appliance has been defrosted, replace the food in the freezer and remember
to consume them as soon as possible.
• Never place hot food in the freezer because it is not recommended.
• To store deep-frozen food; the instructions on the packaging of deep-frozen food should
always be followed to the letter and if there are no instructions, do not store food for
more than three months from the date of purchase.
• When buying deep-frozen food, make sure it has been frozen at the proper temperature
and that the packaging is intact.
• Frozen food should be transported in suitable containers to maintain its quality and
should be put into the freezer compartment of the appliance as quickly as possible.
• If a package of frozen food shows signs of humidity and abnormal swelling, it is likely
that it was previously stored at an incorrect temperature and the contents are damaged.
• The shelf life of frozen food depends on the ambient temperature, the thermostat setting,
how often the door is opened, the type of food and the time required to get the product
from the store to your home. You should always follow the instructions on the packaging
and never exceed the maximum storage period indicated.
N.B.: you may struggle to open the freezer door immediately after closing it. This problem is
quite normal! After the equilibrium has balanced, the door will open again.
