5.4.2
Gauge head application on
various Wheel types
In order to be able to determine unbalance in a single
measuring run, the rim dimensions have to be
entered correctly. Therefore proceed with utmost
care and as is shown in the Figures when applying
the gauge head on the rim in the desired weight fi tting
position. Incorrect application will result in deviations
of measured values and consequently inaccurate
results of the measuring run.
Fig. 5-6 a to 5-6 f show correct application (with and
without adhesive weight) of the gauge head on various
rims and for various weight fi tting positions.

Note: Further to measurements for ALU P, the display
does not show rim width value since it is not important
for balancing. In these cases symbol "- -" is displayed.
5.4.2.1 Weights application with feeler arm or
with laser pointer
The reading point on the rim is given by the upper right
end of the feeler (A and B, Fig.5.7).
Based on the weights application system enabled (arm
or laser), the feeler must be positioned in different
positions (A for arm, B for laser) in order to achieve
the identical axial positioning of the adhesive weight
on the rim.
ARM APPLICATION
(1, Fig. 5-7) (Laser Pointer disabled)
Weights application at the top with the arm head. The
weight will be placed on the left in relation to the feeler
contact point (A) on the rim.
LASER POINTER APPLICATION
(2, Fig. 5-7) (Laser Pointer enabled)
Weights application at about 5 o'clock, on the right of
the laser point. The weight will be placed on the right
in relation to the feeler contact point (B) on the rim.
