f) Rechargeable Battery Programme „REFRESH"
This rechargeable battery programme is used to refresh rechargeable batteries that
were stored for less than 3 months or when their capacity was to be measured.
For this, the rechargeable battery is charged first. After a break of one hour, the discharge
process starts. After another break of one hour, the charge process starts.
The charge current can be set (250 mA to 2500 mA), as can the discharge current
(100 mA to 1000 mA).
After insertion of the rechargeable battery into one of the 4 charging chutes, chose the rechargeable
battery programme „REFRESH" with „2" or „8", then push the button „ENTER".
The charging current now flashes at the top of the display; set it with the button „2" or „8".
Push the „ENTER" button. The charging current now flashes in the display; set it with the button
„2" or „8".
After confirmation with „ENTER" (or if no button is pushed for more than 5 seconds), the rechar-
geable battery program commences.
The display alternatingly shows the rechargeable battery voltage in volt („Charge Volt"), the
charging or discharging unit in mA („ChargeRate" or „DisChargeRate", depending on whether
the battery is being charged or discharged), the elapsed charging or discharging term in hours/
minutes („Charge Time" or „DisCharge Time") and the charged or discharged energy in mAh
(„Charge Capacity" or „DisCharge Capacity").
After the end of the rechargeable battery programme, „DONE" appears in the display. The
energy charged in the rechargeable battery, the charging duration and cell voltage are displayed
alternatingly.
The rechargeable battery can now be taken from the charger.
If the rechargeable batters remains in the charger, the charger switches to maintenance
mode. The rechargeable battery is charged with a very low current to maintain the full
charge condition.
