MANUAL START THE ENGINE
Never touch the engine components. They are very
hot during use and for up to 30 minutes after use.
Never run the engine indoors. The exhaust fumes
contain carbon monoxide, a very toxic gas.
1. Check that the auger control (1:D) is not activated.
2. Set the ignition key (1:A) to the "ON" position.
3. Set the choke (1:F) to the closed position.
Note: A warm engine does not need the choke.
4. Press the rubber bulb (1:E) 2 or 3 times. Make sure the
hole in the bulb is covered when it is pressed in.
Note: Do not use this function when the engine is warm.
5. Pull out the starter handle slowly (1:B) until you feel re-
sistance. Start the engine with a sharp pull.
6. When the engine starts, reset the choke until it is fully
open.

STARTING THE ENGINE WITH ELECTRICAL
START
Never touch the engine components. They are very

1. Connect the cable between the snow thrower electrical
socket (1:O) and a 220/230 volt earthed wall socket. An
earth fault breaker must be used.
2. Check that the auger control (1:D) is not activated.
3. Set the ignition key (1:A) to the "ON" position.
4. Set the choke (1:F) to the closed position.
Note: A warm engine does not need the choke.
5. Press the rubber bulb (1:E) 2 or 3 times. Make sure the
hole in the bulb is covered when it is pressed in.
Note: Do not use this function when the engine is warm.
6. Starting the engine:
A. Press the start button (1:N) to activate the starter mo-
tor.
B. When the engine starts, release the start button and
open the choke slowly.
C. If the engine stutters, close the choke immediately
and gradually open it again.
D. First pull out the extension lead from the socket. Then
remove the extension lead from the engine.
Note: To avoid damaging the electric start, make start at-
tempts where the button is held in for 5 seconds and then
released for 5 seconds. If the engine does not start after
10 attempts, allow it to cool for at least 40 minutes before
making a new attempt. If the engine still does not start,
contact an authorised service station.
7. When the engine has started, reset the choke until it is ful-
ly open.

SAFETY TEST
This machine is equipped with several mechanical safety
systems, designed to keep the operator safe while using the
unit.
After starting and before use of the machine, it is essential
to perform the safety test below.
If the unit fails to operate as described, DO NOT operate it.
