7.7 Adjusting the water flow rate
Before setting the water flow rate, ensure that at least 30 litres of
water are circulating.
The water flow rate can be adjusted by selecting the circulating
pump stage. A medium speed (II) is set by default.
If necessary, the speed can be changed to fast (III) or slow (I) (in
order to reduce the noise caused by the circulating water, for
example).
The figure below shows the external static pressure (kPa)
against the water flow rate (l/min).
Fig. 7.1:Flow rate
NOTE
The factory setting for the LIA 7-9IM is pump speed 3, and for LIA 12-16IM
pump speed 2.
7.8 Checking the residual current
circuit breaker
ATTENTION!
The circuit-breakers (residual current circuit breaker) integrated in the
device do not comply with country-specific safety precautions regarding
residual current. As a result, these components must be installed on site.
Make sure that the residual current circuit breaker is set to "ON".
Switch the power supply for the indoor unit on.
The residual current circuit breaker can only be tested if the
indoor unit's power supply is switched on.
Press the "TEST" button on the residual current circuit
breaker. If everything is working properly, the lever will point
down and display "0".
Switch the power supply for the indoor unit off.
If the residual current circuit breaker is not functioning
normally, return the lever to the "ON" position after testing.
7.9 De-aerating the water circuit
Set the lever to the horizontal position (refer to the "Pressure
relief valve" figure). The trapped air is released, along with
the water. After a few seconds, set the lever to the down
position to stop the water from draining.
Repeat these steps until the system contains no more air.

7.10 Air-to-water heat pump -
When installing an air-to-water heat pump, ensure that the indoor
unit and pipes are de-aerated as described below.
1)
2)
3)
4)
NOTE
Ensure that this sequence is complied with in order to prevent gaseous
refrigerant from escaping.
5)
6)
7)
8)
If the measured value does not fall from 0 cmHg (0 MPa) to -76
cmHg (-0.1 MPa) as described in step 3, the following actions
must be taken:
evacuating the system
Connect a filling hose with a pressure pin to the low-
pressure side of the charging station and to the service
connection on the 3-way valve.
Ensure that the end of the charging hose with the pressure
pin is properly connected to the service valve.
Connect the middle hose on the pressure gauge station to a
vacuum pump with test valve, a vacuum pump or a vacuum
pump adapter.
Switch the vacuum pump on so that a measured value of
0 cmHg (0 MPa) to -76 cmHg (-0.1 MPa) is displayed.
Evacuate the system for around 10 minutes.
Close the valve on the low-pressure side of the pressure
gauge station and switch the vacuum pump off. The
measured value should not change during the next five
minutes.
Disconnect the filling hose from the vacuum pump and the
service connection of the 3-way valve.
Use a torque wrench to tighten the closing cap on the
service connection of the 3-way valve to a torque of 18 Nm.
Remove the valve caps from the 2-way and 3-way valves.
Open both valves by setting them to "OPEN" using a
hexagonal wrench (4 mm).
Screw the valve caps back onto the 2-way and 3-way
valves.
Ensure that no gas is leaking.
If the leak is no longer present once the pipe connections
have been retightened, you can continue from step 3.
If the leak is still present even though the pipe connections
have been retightened, the leak must be repaired.
No refrigerant must be allowed to enter the atmosphere
during installation. Care must be taken, as liquid refrigerant
can cause frostbite.
