release the overpressure in the tank, and leave it open while discharging. (When
discharging, it is recommended to connect a hose to the discharge stud.)
9.3.
Descaling
After removing the service cover, it is recommended to perform reassembling us-
ing a new sealing. When cleaning, avoid damaging the protective surface finish.
Perform mechanical cleaning only; no other cleaning or disinfection is needed.
Descaling is considered to be part of the maintenance, and it does not belong to
the activities covered by guarantee. However, due to the necessity of disconnect-
ing the circuit, putting back into operation must be performed by an authorised
service station (along with the review of the electrical connections).
9.4.
Electronics
When they need replacement, the tank must be disconnected from the mains;
such replacement requires the disconnection of the electrical circuit. Figure 12.4.
shows the control panel (12.4.a), the power supply panel (12.4.b), the connecting
cable (12.4.c) and the temperature sensor socket (12.4.d).
9.5.
Radiator
Its replacement requires the disconnection of the power supply; such replace-
ment requires the disconnection of the electrical circuit. The replacement of the
ceramic heating element (radiator with pocket tube) requires the discharge of wa-
ter from the container and the removal of the service cover. For this design, the
radiator is inserted in an enamelled steel pocket tube protected from outside im-
pacts, whereby the heating element has not direct contact with water. Due to this
design, there is no failure due to scaling, the anode has a longer expected ser-
vice life than in conventional pipe radiator designs. We absolutely recommend
this design for regions where water is hard.
9.6.
Active anode
The hot water tank is equipped with additional active anode protection against
corrosion. The service life of the active anodes is subject to the water quality and
the operating conditions. The condition of the anodes must be checked upon
each descaling operation, but at least once every two years. Its replacement re-
quires the disconnection of the power supply; such replacement requires the dis-
connection of the electrical circuit and the removal of the service cover. After re-
moving the service cover, it is recommended to perform reassembling using a
new sealing. The technician determines the time of the next inspection. If the di-
ameter of the anode decreases by 10mm anywhere, it must be replaced. After re-
placement of the anode, its earthing must be implemented according to the origi-
nal state. Adequate metal-through connection between the active anode and the
earthing bolt is essential.
9.7.
Defrosting
Taking the appliance out of service requires the removal of power, and the total
emptying of the container. When putting back into operation, refill the appliance
with water before the unit is powered on.
