Maintenance tasks
DANGER
If the system is installed in a chamber, accident prevention measures must be taken (testing the air to make sure it
is safe or mechanical ventilation of the chamber, safety harnesses and lookout personal, as well as tripod, etc.).
CAUTION
Inlet and outlet pipes must be emptied and pressure-less before work is started. The fill level in the system tank
must be located below the fixing level (pump flange) of the pumps.
CAUTION
Risk of material damage!
Pump must not dry run.
The batteries must have an adequate voltage reserve to ensure the readiness for operation of the backwater flaps during
a power failure. Under normal intended use conditions a voltage of 16V is sufficient until the next specified maintenance.
The voltage is given in the control unit menu, under "Current measured values".
The seals of the lockable cover and the slide-in flap housing (towards the drain body) may only be greased with KESSEL
high-performance grease (art. no. 681001).
Prepare maintenance
Check whether backwater is present (display on the control unit). If yes, maintenance cannot be carried out.
Perform electrical check of the system
Ensure that there is no afterflow of wastewater.
Press the "Manual operation" button to pump away residual water.
Close the flap(s) using the "manual operation" button. If a redundant flap is installed, then close it also.
Switch off the control unit and secure against switching on
Maintenance of the backwater components
Dismantle and clean the lockable cover, flap(s) and slide-
in flap housings.
Clean the interior in the area of the flaps.
Coat the seal of the lockable cover and contact surfaces
of the slide-in flap housing with KESSEL high-perfor-
mance grease (art. no. 681001).
The contact areas between the locking lever and flaps
can also be coated with KESSEL high-performance
grease (art. no. 681001).
Re-install the slide-in flap housings and flaps.
Ensure that the lockable cover is in the "CLOSED" posi-
tion. Also coat the lever on the underside of the lockable
cover and its contact surface on the flap with KESSEL
high-performance grease.
Install the lockable cover.
If backwater events occurred since the last maintenance,
dismantle the pump and expose the ventilation opening.
Then re-install the pump.
Switch on the control unit again.
Use the Manual operation button to re-open the flap(s).
Check the remaining battery voltage, as described above,
via the control unit, replace the batteries if necessary.
