3) DRILLING THE CHASSIS AND FITTING THE MOUN-
TING PLATES
•
As a general rule, in order to fit the mounting plates of the
HTL, DHOLLANDIA tries to adopt a maximum possible
number of existing chassis perforations, in order to mini-
mize the number of new fixation holes to be drilled during
the fitting process. [See Fig. 3.1]
•
Refer to the FITTING DRAWING, distinguish
between the right & left side mounting plates,
and between the front & rear end of the mount-
ing plates, and identify the existing chassis
perforations that will be used to fit the mounting
plates to the chassis
•
Fit the mounting plates to the vehicle chassis, using the
bolts supplied in the kit. Remove the excess of mastic or
paint if required to hang the mounting plates correctly.
•
Push up the plates into correct position against
the underside of the vehicle chassis, to assure
that the HTL will hang straight in the finished
stage. Then fasten the bolts through the mount-
ing plates and the existing chassis perforations
to the prescribed torque. [See Fig. 3.2]
•
Drill the remaining holes of the pattern of the
mounting plates in the vehicle chassis, using a
drill of the same diameter as the perforation in
the mounting plate. [See Fig. 3.2]
•
Refer to the FITTING AND BODY BUILDING
INSTRUCTIONS of the vehicle manufacturer,
as some have strict procedures how to execute
the chassis drills. [See Fig. 3.3]
