Maintenance and cleaning
With rough conditions, we recommend routine maintenance as follows:
1. Removal of all dirt particles.
2. Remove dust from sensor surfaces.
Clean enclosure on the outside only. Clean enclosure with household
cleaning agents. Do not use compressed air to clean.
Technical information
The infrared transmitters and receivers in steute reflection light
sensors are located next to each other behind a filter in the housing
cover, both pointing upwards. A short infrared flash is emitted approx.
5 times per second. Reflective light sensors detect an object as soon
as they sense sufficiently reflected light from its surface. When an
object is detected, the sensor generates a defined electrical output
signal. A light surface reflects more light than a dark surface and can
therefore also be detected from a greater distance. In order to achieve
similar results with a dark background, the sensitivity of the sensor
must be high. It is a challenge with optical sensors to detect a small
dark object against a light background. Due to the high level of reflec-
tion, the background can outshine the object, making it difficult to see.
Conversely, light objects against a dark background are much easier
to detect. In order to save energy in this battery-driven product and to
prolong the battery lifetime, the pulsing of the infrared transmitting
diode is relatively long, at approx. 5 Hz. This also, however, leads to
an increased response time. The sensor technology in the RF 96 LT
SW868/SW915/SW917/SW922 has been shown to react sensitively to
the light scatter from flashing warning lights using xenon gas-dis-
charge lamps. If necessary, appropriate shading must be provided
on site.
Battery
When the battery voltage acc. to the radio protocol drops below approx.
<3200 mV (at 20°C, load approx. 20 mA), it may be assumed that the
battery is empty. Attention: The open circuit voltage measurement
does not provide reliable information! In order to ensure reliable func-
tioning, the battery must be replaced. To do this, the 5 screws in the
housing cover must be opened using a torx-8 screwdriver. The battery
should be inserted in the direction shown by the symbols on the cover.
Use only the designated battery type or a complementary battery
type. Depending on the country the device is supplied to, delivery will
include an AA lithium battery SL-760/3.6 V/2.2 Ah in a battery adapter,
or a lithium battery SL-2770/3.6 V/8.5 Ah without an adapter or a com-
plementary battery type.

Utilisation conforme
Le RF 96 LT SW868/SW915/SW917/SW922 est constitué essentielle-
ment de trois parties: l'alimentation en énergie par pile au lithium, le
capteur infrarouge à réflexion et la partie radio avec interface intégrée
pour la technologie des capteurs. L'alimentation en énergie est fournie
par une pile 3,6 V au lithium-chlorure de thionyle non rechargeable.
Lors d'une réflexion suffisante des éclairs infrarouges invisibles, un
signal est émis par la partie radio. Avec chaque émission, l'état de ten-
sion de la pile est également transmis. Indépendamment d'un signal
de l'état de commutation, il est possible de transmettre régulièrement
un signal d'état qui transmet l'état de commutation actuel du capteur.
Le récepteur doit prendre en charge le protocole sWave® des
modules steute.

Un signal d'état peut être réglé par l'utilisateur dans des intervalles
différents par un cavalier. Pour cela, il faut dévisser les 5 vis du cou-
vercle du boîtier avec un tournevis Torx 8. Assurez-vous d'avoir une
protection suffisante contre les décharges électrostatiques (DES).
