6.5 WATER CONNECTIONS
For the hydraulic connections of the cassette fan coil, use only suitable material
and follow the prescriptions of the system (project and rules of the Country of
installation).
•
Indications about the water connections of the cassette fan coils are given in Enclo-
sures 3/A ÷ 5/B;
•
Water piping to the cooling and heating system must be properly designed, fixed and
insulated in order to avoid operational and leaking problems.
NOTE. Insulating material coming out from the unit together with the connection
pipes must be steady stuck to the insulating material of the cold water piping of the
system, in order to avoid the risk of water leaking down from the suction grill.
•
Inlet and outlet water piping must respect the flow direction indicated on the water
connections.
If the cassette unit has to work in cooling mode, the use of a valve (optional
accessory) is recommended, so that when the fan is not working, or in case of problems with
the condensing water drainage, it stops the chilled water flow to the coil.
Coils water connections are flat brass gasket type unions. These unions allow an easy
connection to the water piping of the system or to the valves and they can be used also
for bleeding the air. The air bleed is done by loosening slightly the water inlet union and
supplying the water from the outlet connection.
The coil can be completely drained by unscrewing the valve located below the header (Fig.
21 and Fig. 22).
