Always use caution when handling fuel.
- Never store cans of fuel or refill the tank in any place where there is a boiler, stove,
wood fire, electrical sparks, welding sparks, or any other source of heat or fire which
might ignite the fuel.
- Before refilling the tank, always switch off engine and allow it to cool down.
- After refilling is completed, securely close the tank cover and:
Eliminate all sources of sparks or flame (i.e. smoking, open flames, or tools that can
cause sparks) in the areas where fuel is mixed, poured, or stored.
Do not smoke while handling fuel or while operating the product.
Do not operate the product while standing on a ladder or any other unstable footing location.
Guard against kickback, particularly dangerous as product may slip from your hands.
Kickback is the upward or lateral sidewise motion of the cutting head which occurs when the cutting
element contacts a hard object.
Kickback can lead to dangerous loss of control of the product
Transportation:
Always carry the product with the engine stopped; with the cutting element protective cover; and the
muffler away from your body (to avoid any burn hazard).
Never transport the machine over rough roads and long distances in a vehicle without removing the fuel
from the fuel tank; so as to avoid any fuel leak.
Attention! Burning hazard: never touch the muffler guard or cutting element with bare hands while the
engine is in operation or immediately after shutting down the engine.
Doing so could result in serious burns because of high temperature.
- Become familiar with the controls and the proper use of the equipment.
- Store idle machine: when not in use, product should be stored in a dry, high or locked up place, out of
reach of children.
- Do not force the tool
It will do the job better and safer at the rate speed for which it is intended.
The product will do a better and safer job if it is used only for the purposes it was designed for.
- Remove adjusting keys and wrenches
Form the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the machine
before operating it.
- Defective switches or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an
authorized service centre. Do not use the machine if the switch does not turn it on and off.
- Warning
The use of any accessory or attachment, other than those recommended in this instruction manual, may
present a risk of injury to persons or animals and may cause damages.
The user and/or operator are responsible for any damages or injury caused to properties and/or persons.
- Remarks
The safety precautions and instructions given in this manual are unable to cover in detail all the
conditions and situations that may arise.
The operator and/or user must use common sense and caution when operating the product especially for
any matters that are not referred in the above
3.2- Kickback safety precautions
WARNING
As a user you should take several steps to keep cutting jobs free from accident or injury.
- Wipe up all fuel spills;
- then move the product at least 3m from the fueling point and fuel can before
starting the engine.
