Cleaning the panel and the water distribution system
•
Clean the evaporative panel with a soft bristle brush, after which wash with clean water or water with detergent which is
compatible with the construction materials of the machine
•
Do not use hot and/or high pressure water
•
Cleaning the panel should be done at the beginning of the season, after the flowering period and at the end of the season
•
Cleaning the distribution system must be done, if using treated water, by increasing the flow of water as much as possible, while
in the case of mains water it is necessary to clean the holes in the distribution piping with the drill bit of diameter 3 mm.
WARNING
Do not add oxidizing agents to the water as this could cause problems to the paper; if unavoidable, at least try to use minimum
quantities, maximum 1 ppm for continuous treatment and maximum 5ppm for one-off treatments.
Prevention of algae formation
If the recommendations for use and maintenance mentioned above are followed, biological control treatments are not necessary.
To avoid the proliferation of algae it is necessary to follow the following recommendations:
-
at least once every 24 hours, let the panel dry out (passage of air without water);
-
disinfect the system with detergent which is compatible with the construction materials of the machine at the end of every
season.
Adiabatic panel replacement procedure
The average lifespan of an adiabatic panel using mains water is about 2-4 years if the indications for use and maintenance in this
document are followed
However, the duration depends on the number of times the water supply to the panels is switched on and off, water quality and
flowrate, and the level of environmental pollution.
The use of treated water can increase the life of the panels.
WARNING
● Adiabatic panels are made of paper:
-
handle them with care to avoid damages
paper is flammable material, necessary measures must be adopted during installation, operation and maintenance
-
● The material of the adiabatic panels has flammable components when exposed to high temperatures or comes into contact with
sparks, flames or other ignition systems.
● The material is not self-extinguishing.
● The panels when installed can absorb solvents and / or dust with particulates that can be dangerous; excessive dust accumulation
could represent a potential risk.
● The fumes resulting from the combustion can be treated / burned with suitable systems.
FIRE FIGHTING MEASURE
Suitable and unsuitable extinguishing media:
Suitable Extinguishing Media: Use alcohol resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, or water fog or spray when fighting fires
involving this material.
Specific hazards arising from the chemical:
Hazardous Combustion Byproducts: Oxides of carbon, oxides of nitrogen and other organic substances may be formed.
Unusual Fire Hazards: This product, when used, is capable of adsorbing solvents and/or particulate dusts. These adsorbed compounds
can be hazardous. Excessive dust accumulation could present a potential combustible dust hazard.
Special protective equipment and precautions for fire-fighters
Protective Equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full fire fighting protective gear
