on page 38
Maintenance interval
CAUTION!
–
Maintain the sensor regularly in
order to avoid over-metering in
the event of a sensor failure
–
Please note the applicable
national guidelines for mainte‐
nance intervals
–
Do not touch the electrodes or
bring them into contact with sub‐
stances containing grease
–
Never try to clean the membrane
with alkalis, detergents or by
mechanical means (brush or sim‐
ilar).
Cooling water: weekly to monthly,
depending on water quality
Maintenance work
1.
Check the membrane cap for
deposits, e.g. limescale, rust, bio‐
films or air bubbles
ð Remove deposits when neces‐
sary, see
membrane' on page 54
2.
Check the display value of the
sensor on the control device using
a suitable measuring instrument
(e.g. DPD)
ð Re-calibrate the sensor if nec‐
essary.

Cleaning the membrane
If the membrane is dirty and the sensor
cannot be calibrated, try to clean the
membrane carefully. Firstly dismantle the
sensor. Gently remove any adhesive dirt:
Flush the membrane under a gentle
stream of cold water.
ð Now fill the sensor with electro‐
lyte, allow it to run in and recali‐
brate.
Replacing the membrane
If calibration is no longer possible even
after the membrane has been cleaned or
if the membrane is damaged, then you
must replace the membrane cap
To do so, see the Calibration
chapter
Repairing the sensor
The sensor can only be repaired in the
factory. To do so return to the manufac‐
turer in its original packaging.
