TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem(s)
The cylinder ram extends
without force.
There is air in the plunger
pump or there is no oil in
the plunger pump.

Hydraulic Pipe Bender with Tripod
Possible Cause(s)
1. Jammed relief valve.
2. Inadequate hydraulic
oil in cylinder.
3. Loose vented oil bolt.
4. Seal ring is faulty.
5. Air in cylinder.

3. Inferior grade
hydraulic oil.
4. Dirt in the oil filter.
Suggested Solution(s)
1. Check the steel ball in release valve (#26) to see if it
has fallen. Then tighten release valve clockwise.
2. Add hydraulic oil to fill cylinder (#45).
3. Check the vented oil bolt (#46) to see if it is loose.
4. Change the polyurethane seal ring (#36) in
plunger pump.
5. Purge air in cylinder (see Purging Oil Tank).
1. Purge air in cylinder (see Purging Oil Tank).
2. Add hydraulic oil to fill cylinder (#45).
3. Drain existing oil and refill with quality hydraulic oil.
4. Dismantle oil filter (#30) with wrench and clean
copper mesh. Reassemble oil filter.
