Instructions
Two-posiTion crown
Pushed in: To wind the watch (1).
Pulled out: To set the time in either direction (2).
Manual winding
We recommend that you wind your watch each
day at about the same time, preferably in the
morning. We advise you to wind the watch be‑
fore you put it on. This way, you can avoid lateral
pressure on the winding crown which, over time,
could damage the winding stem. Turn the crown
gently and evenly. Excessively vigorous winding
could damage the movement.
seTTing The TiMe
To set the time, gently pull the winding crown
out to position 2 (see illustration). Once the

hands are set to the correct time, push the crown
all the way home again. The movement has
a stop‑seconds feature that allows the time to be
set to the second. When you pull out the winding
crown, the seconds hand stops instantly. It will
restart immediately when you push the crown
home again after having set the time.
chronograph funcTions
The Patek Philippe split‑seconds chronograph
allows you to record the duration of events, to
measure lap times, and to save a reference time.
For this purpose, it has two large sweep seconds
hands – the chronograph hand and the split‑
seconds hand – as well as a minute hand on a
small 60‑minute counter at 3 o'clock. In contrast
to most split‑seconds chronographs, the Patek
Philippe reference 7059 is a three‑phase chrono‑
graph that requires only two buttons.
