2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Das Gerät entspricht allen erforderlichen Richtlinien
der EU und ist deshalb mit
gekennzeichnet.
WARNUNG Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefähr-
licher Netzspannung (230 V~) ver-
sorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb niemals
selbst Eingriffe am Gerät vor und ste-
cken Sie nichts durch die Lüftungs-
öffnungen! Es besteht die Gefahr
eines elektrischen Schlages.
Im Betrieb liegt an den Anschlüssen SPEAKER
OUTPUT (9) und SLAVE INPUT (17) berührungs-
gefährliche Spannung bis 100 V an. Alle Anschlüsse
nur bei ausgeschalteter ELA-Anlage vornehmen
bzw. verändern.
Beachten Sie auch unbedingt die folgenden Punkte:
Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung im Innenbe-
reich geeignet. Schützen Sie es vor Tropf- und
Spritzwasser, hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hitze
(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).
Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße,
z. B. Trinkgläser, auf das Gerät.
Die in dem Gerät entstehende Wärme muss durch
Luftzirkulation abgegeben werden. Decken Sie da-
rum die Lüftungsöffnungen des Gehäuses nicht ab.
Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb und ziehen
Sie sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose,
wenn:
1. sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der Netz-
anschlussleitung vorhanden sind,
2. nach einem Sturz oder Ähnlichem der Verdacht
auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Geben Sie das Gerät in jedem Fall zur Reparatur
in eine Fachwerkstatt.
2 Safety Notes

During operation, there is a hazard of contact with
a voltage of up to 100 V at the terminals SPEAKER
OUTPUT (9) and SLAVE INPUT (17). Always
switch off the PA system before making or chang-
ing any connections.
Please observe the following items in any case:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
unit, e. g. a drinking glass.
The heat generated within the unit must be carried
off by air circulation. Therefore, do not cover the
air vents of the housing.
Do not operate the unit and immediately dis-
connect the mains plug from the socket
1. in case of visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled
personnel.
Never pull the mains cable for disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.

3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der Verstärker PA-3120 ist speziell für den Einsatz
in 100-V-ELA-Anlagen konzipiert. Für Hintergrund-
musik und für normale Durchsagen ist ein Line-
pegel-Eingang vorhanden. Für Notfalldurchsagen
oder andere wichtige Durchsagen ist ein zweiter
Linepegel-Eingang vorhanden. Mit einem separaten
Schalter oder einem externen Relais lässt sich auf
den zweiten Eingang umschalten. Alternativ kann
über den 100-V-Eingang der PA-3120 einer beste-
henden ELA-Anlage zusätzliche Leistung für wei-
tere Lautsprecher zur Verfügung stellen.
Über das integrierte Fehlermeldemodul lassen
sich Signalgeber anschließen, die beim Ausfall der
Netzspannung oder bei fehlender Notstromversor-
gung den Fehler melden. Zur Funktionsüberwa-
chung der Endstufe kann zusätzlich das Fehlerüber-
wachungsmodul PA-6FD von MONACOR eingesetzt
werden.

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-
cordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol

2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
If the unit is to be put out of operation de-
finitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
3 Applications
The amplifier PA-3120 is specially designed for
applications in 100 V PA systems. A line level input is
provided for background music and ordinary an-
nouncements; a second line level input is provided
for emergency announcements or other important
announcements. By means of a separate switch or

Das als Zubehör lieferbare Fehlerüberwachungsmo-
dul PA-6FD (Abb. 3) ist speziell für diesen Verstärker
konzipiert. Es erzeugt einen 20-kHz-Sinustestton,
der auf die Endstufe gegeben wird. Liegt der Testton
aufgrund eines Defekts im Verstärker nicht am An-
schluss SPEAKER OUTPUT (9) an, leuchten die
Anzeigen FAULT und PROTECT (3) auf. Außerdem
erlischt die grüne LED (13) auf der Verstärkerrück-
seite. Über ein Relais lässt sich zusätzlich ein Sig-
nalgeber aktivieren.
4.1 Einbau und Anschluss
WARNUNG Der Einbau des Moduls darf nur
durch Fachpersonal erfolgen. Vor
dem Öffnen des Verstärkers den Netz-
stecker aus der Steckdose ziehen,
anderenfalls besteht die Gefahr eines
elektrischen Schlages!
Falls eine Notstromeinheit angeschlossen ist, diese
von den Anschlüssen DC POWER (6) trennen, da-
mit der Verstärker auf jeden Fall außer Betrieb ist.
1) Den Gehäusedeckel des Verstärkers abschrau-
ben und das Abdeckblech (10) entfernen.
2) Das Modul PA-6FD an der Stelle des Abdeck-
blechs von außen einsetzen und festschrauben.
3) Die 4-polige Leitung, die hinten im Verstärker am
Kabelbaum festgebunden ist, in die Buchse
CN 601 des Moduls stecken. Dabei muss der
äußere Pin der Buchse frei bleiben, siehe Abb. 4.
4) Den Kontakt COM der Anschlussklemme SPEA-
KER OUTPUT (9) am Verstärker mit dem Kontakt
COM der Anschlussklemme Line In (19) am Modul
verbinden und den Kontakt 100 V von SPEAKER
OUTPUT mit dem Kontakt HOT von Line In.
5) Die Steckbrücke SW 1 auf dem Überwachungs-
modul in die Position ON stecken.

second input. Alternatively, via its 100 V input, the
PA-3120 is able to provide an existing PA system
with additional power for further speakers.
Via the integrated fault monitoring module, signal
devices can be connected which will indicate the
fault in case of mains failure or absence of the emer-
gency power supply. For monitoring the power
amplifier, the fault detection module PA-6FD from
MONACOR can be additionally installed.
4 Installation of the Module PA-6FD
The fault detection module PA-6FD (fig. 3) available
as an accessory is specially designed for this ampli-
fier. It will generate a 20 kHz sinusoidal test tone
which is fed to the power amplifier. If the test tone is
not applied to the terminal SPEAKER OUTPUT (9)
due to a defect in the amplifier, the LEDs FAULT and
PROTECT (3) will light up. Furthermore, the green
LED (13) on the rear side of the amplifier will be
extinguished. Via a relay, a signal device can be
additionally activated.
4.1 Installation and connection
WARNING The module must be installed by
skilled personnel only. Prior to open-
ing the amplifier, disconnect the
mains plug from the socket, other-
wise you will risk an electric shock!
If an emergency power supply unit is connected, dis-
connect it from the terminals DC POWER (6) to
ensure that the amplifier is out of operation.
1) Unscrew the housing cover of the amplifier and
remove the cover plate (10).
2) Insert the module PA-6FD at the place of the
cover plate from the outside and fasten it with
screws.
