SELECTION Of RPM VALUE
(BUR2 160E)
The necessary speed can be pre-selected by
rotating the regulator dial 10. Select minimum
rpm by setting the dial to position "A"; select
maximum rpm by setting the dial to position "F"
(Fig. 9), thus ensuring the optimum mode for
drilling in different materials - metal, wood, plas-
tics, etc.
REVERSING (BUR2 160E)
The extreme position of lever 9 to the right (Fig.
10a) is equivalent to clockwise rotation, the ex-
treme position to the left - to counter-clockwise
rotation (Fig. 10b).
The arrow marks on both sides of the switch 11
signify: "screwing" - right run (the switch lever
9 to the right) and "unscrewing" - left run (the
switch lever 9 to the left). When the ON/OFF
switch 11 is depressed, lever 9 can not be actu-
ated. Reversing shall be performed only when
the spindle is not rotating!
During operation with anti-clock rotation (left di-
rection) the switch trigger has limited run and the
machine can operate with revolutions from posi-
tion "A" to "E" of the electronic regulator 10. The
lock-on button 12 can operate only if the elec-
tronic regulator 10 is up to "E" position.
OPERATION MODE SELECTION
▪ Drilling in metal, wood, etc. The switch 5 is in
its extreme right position the symbol "drill bit"
being exposed (Fig. 11a).
▪ Drilling in concrete, stone, etc. The ON/OFF
switch 5 is in its extreme left position and the
symbol "hammer" is exposed (Fig. 11b).
SCREWING/UNSCREWING BOLTS,
SCREWS AND NUTS (BUR2 160E)
Following the above-described procedure, tight-
en the corresponding accessory in chuck 2. Set
the operation mode selector switch 5 in the right-
most position until the "drill bit" symbol could be
entirely exposed. Select the rotation direction
necessary by lever 9. These operations must be
performed only at low rpm. Place the bit onto the
screw or the bolt only when the spindle is not
rotating. The rotating bit can slip.
WARNING: In case of screwing/un-
screwing long bolts and screws there is a
danger of slipping the drill.

RECOMMENDATION fOR SCREWING
▪ Use the proper bits for screwing, with appro-
priate shape and size.
▪ In soft wood the suitable screws can be
screwed in without preliminary drilling a small
pilot hole;
▪ For hard wood preliminary drilling a small pilot
hole is necessary;
▪ For sunk-head screws the hole must be pre-
liminary spot-faced.
▪ For pivot screws, drill preliminary the seat for
the screw for approximately half its length.
AUXILIARY HANDLE
Tighten the auxiliary handle 8 on the drill journal
4 (Fig. 12). In the interests of safety, the auxil-
iary handle 8 should always be used. The depth
gauge 7 can be used for fixing the depth of the
drilled bores.
The auxiliary handle for these models is con-
nected to the body of the machine through vi-
bration dampers, protecting the operator and
reducing fatigue.
RECOMMENDATIONS fOR OPERA-
TION
Apply moderate pressure during drilling in con-
crete (approximately 100-120 N for drill bits up to
Ø16 mm). Higher pressure will not increase drill-
ing efficiency, but it will lead to decreasing the
operation life of the machine. For machines with
electronic speed control, drill with speed lower
than the maximum, suited to the material.
Use carbide tipped straight shank drill bits.
Take the drill out of the opening from time to time
to remove dust.
Watch out the stage of blunting of the bit and
change it if considerable decrease of efficiency
is observed.
Before drilling large diameter holes, drill a small
pilot hole.
ACCESSORIES TO BE USED WITH
THIS POWER TOOL
▪ Drill bits for steel Ø3 mm to Ø13 mm
▪ Drill bits for wood Ø3 mm to Ø40 mm
▪ Drill bits for concrete Ø3 mm to Ø16 mm
▪ 6,35 mm (1/4") hexagon shank screwdriver
