7. Assembling the external switch cabinet

7.1
Selecting the location
The location must be cool and protected from direct sunlight during the summer months. The rear side of
the round column/the sides of the cabinet must be installed with at least 10 cm clearance from the nearest
wall. If shading is provided for on-site, this must be located on the rear side or on the sides, leaving open
space so that the column/cabinet is sufficiently ventilated and in order to avoid trapped heat.
Height above the highest water level in the tank in order to avoid overflow and water intake in
the open channel in the case of damage.
The switch cabinet requires an electrical Isolator Switch with 16 amp, slow blow. Additional
electrical appliances must not be connect to the Isolator Switch as electrical failure may dis-
rupt operation.
The system generates noise! The solenoid valves located in the cabinet generate a clicking
noise when they open, and the air compressor located in the system generates a longer con-
tinuous noise (comparable to a freezer).
The air hoses must be no longer than 20 metres.
7.2
Installation and assembly
A sufficiently wide and deep hole should be provided at the planned
location (see dimensions in chapter 12). The foundation base for cabi-
nets is to be assembled according to the accompanying assembly in-
structions. The empty pipe and the air hoses are to be routed into the
prepared hole. The base is then to be inserted vertically into the hole to
a depth of approx. 60-64 cm.
Make sure that the cabinet is stable and secure and is installed vertical-
ly in the hole.
For work in the lower part of the exterior column, the spacer under the
door can be removed.
Unlock the door, pull it forwards and remove it in an upwards di-
rection (image A).
Pull the spacer upwards and remove towards the front (image
B).
To reduce earth moisture, fill the empty space inside the base with appropriate base filling granulate (art.
no. 107607). The filling material remains in the cabinet base permanently and does not need to be
changed.
The granulate filling volume for a filling height of approx. 30 cm corresponds to:

Exterior cabinet:
A cabinet open to the surrounding ground can lead to corrosion damage of
the electrical components in the case of high ground moisture!
7.3
Electrical connection
The electrical connection of the switch cabinet must only be carried out by a
qualified electrician.
An underground cable must be laid to supply power to the cabinet. This cable must
be protected by a 16 amp fuse via the building installation and must be able to
be separated from the mains.
Fuse
The underground cable is connected to the pre-assembled power socket in the cabi-
connections
net.
