ATTENTION! National or local regulations may restrict the use of the
machine to certain hours or periods. Check with your local authority.
Note: careful daily inspection should be performed before use and after a drop
or shock to identify major defects. Do not use the machine until the defects
have been repaired.
Restrict working hours to a minimum and always take rest periods.
For proper use, after each work period take a rest period (for ex take a rest for
10 minutes after a work period of 30 minutes).
5.2- Working with the chainsaw
WARNING
Sawing and felling a tree, as well as all related works (mortise cutting, limbing, etc.), should only be
carried out by persons with the required training.
A person lacking experience in using the chainsaw or without working techniques should not
perform any of these jobs – accident hazard!
For felling and limbing, the gasoline chainsaws are better suited than electric chainsaws.
Indeed, the freedom of movement essential for such types of work is limited by the power supply
cord.
The electric chainsaw is not suitable for use in windfalls (tree falls) and is not permitted to be used for
such works.
If a tree is to be felled and limbed with an electric chainsaw, it is essential to comply with the specific
national regulations concerning the cutting techniques.
Always hold the chain saw firmly with both hands.
Front grip with the left hand and rear grip with the right
hand. Fully grip both handles at all times during operation.
Never operate chain saw using only one hand.
Ensure power cord is located to the rear, away from the
chain and wood and so positioned that it will not be caught
on branches or the like during cutting.
Use the chain saw only with secure footing. Hold the chain
saw at the right-hand side of your body, see illustration 10a.
The chain must be running at full speed before it makes
contact with the wood.
Use the metal gripping teeth to secure the saw onto the
wood before starting to cut.
Use the spiked bumper (12) as a leverage point "a" while
cutting. (See illustration 10b)
