Connections
Connect all engine/vehicle-side connectors before connecting the harness to the ECM. All engine/vehicle-side connectors are functionally labeled,
reference a 2017 Camaro or later model year with a LT4 engine service manual if necessary to determine connection locations on engine.
Note: It may be easier to install the harness on the engine before installing the engine into the vehicle.
The harness includes a fuse/relay center containing all required fuses and relays, and also a 12-way bulkhead connector (with sealed mating connector)
which contains outputs that may be useful to the user (see 'Bulkhead Connector Outputs' section below). The fuse/relay center should be mounted as
high in the engine compartment as possible to avoid unnecessary splash and road debris. Likewise, keep the 12-way bulkhead connector and diagnostic
link connector (both connect from the fuse/relay center) as high and protected as possible.
The 3 ECM connectors are indexed to connect only in the correct locations. Install by pressing down firmly until the connector is seated, then pull the
top slider bar down until it snaps and locks into place. The bar should slide easily and will not move unless the connector is seated properly, do not use
excessive force.
Attach the harness ground eyelets (4 total) to the engine block using the 4 bolts provided, ensuring the connections are clean and secure, and attach
the fuel pump wire from the FPPM (Fuel Pump Power Module) to the power and ground side of the pump (this feed is fused and relay-controlled from
the ECM). Two ground eyelets should be attached under one bolt on the rear of the cylinder head.
For manual transmission applications, a pair of wires for the connection to a top of travel clutch switch have been provided. Not to be confused with
the bottom of travel clutch switch or neutral safety clutch switch which prevents starter engagement without fully depressing the clutch. The top of
travel clutch switch is used to briefly disable fuel when the clutch is depressed which helps decelerate the engine and makes upshifting easier and
quicker. A compatible clutch switch will have two pins to provide a closed circuit when the clutch pedal is fully released and an open circuit as soon as
the clutch pedal is partially depressed.
