CONNECTION TO THE GAS NETWORK
Before the installation, check that the local gas distribution
conditions (type and pressure of gas used) and the unit
regulations match. If not, adapt the unit in order so that
it is compatible with another type of gas. The regulation
conditions of this appliance are shown on the data plate.
The network connection must be performed by the means
of metal pipes made from galvanized steel or copper and
placed in view.
Each appliance must be connected to the network by
its own cutoff cock positioned in an easy to reach place.
The cock must be closed every time work is finished. The
connection among the appliance pipes and the gas pipes
must be made with a 3-part metal joint to facilitate the
disassembling and reassembling of the appliance. The seal
on the connecting threads can be made by using materials
which are declared by their manufacturer as specifically
suitable even for gas.
START-UP
Checking rated thermal power
The unit's thermal power must be checked, according to
the following instructions. Checks must be carried out in
the event of new installations, when the unit is adapted
to another type of gas and whenever maintenance is
performed.
Thermal power can not be regulated in any other case.
The unit operation with rated thermal power, as well as
at the minimum, is obtained by measuring the correct
connection pressure and by making sure that the used
nozzles are the correct ones. The operations to be
performed are listed in the following paragraph. After this
inspection, also check the operation as specified in the
paragraph "Check the operation".
CHECKING INPUT PRESSURE
The input pressure should be measured by using a gauge (for
example, a U gauge with a minimum resolution of 0.1 mbar).
- Remove screw "A" from the pressure socket placed at the
gas pipe inlet (fig. 1).
- Connect the U gauge
- Run the appliance.
- Measure input pressure.
- If the pressure is not within the range (see the plate of
technical characteristics), the appliance must not be
used. Inform the gas company.
- After measuring the pressure, remove the U gauge and
tighten the sealing screw.
CHECKING GAS LEAKAGE
After installation, make sure that there are no gas leakages.
Use some water with soap and brush it on the joints and
fittings, any small leakage will be shown by means of soap
bubbles.
Another system to check a gas leakage is to make sure that
the meter, if any, over a period of about 10 minutes, does
not signal any gas passage.
WARNING: never use free flame to check for gas
leakages.
RUNNING THE APPLIANCE ON OTHER TYPES OF
GAS
The appliance is tested and fit to operate with the type
of gas specified in the plate of technical characteristics. If
the gas, for which the appliance is regulated, is different
from the connection gas, carefully follow the following
instructions:
1) replacement of the burner nozzles
The nozzles can be reached by removing the cabinet doors
or disassemble the front panel.
Unscrew and replace the nozzles with the suitable ones
specified in the "Burners" table. Be careful to keep and
assemble the seal gasket, if any.
2) replacement or regulation of the minimum nozzle (fig.
2)
The nozzles can be reached by removing the front panel.
- In the event of LPG, unscrew the minimum screw "B" of
the cock and replace it with the one suitable for the type
of gas (see the "Burners" table) and tighten it again.
- In the event of methane gas, adjust the screw of the
minimum screw "B". Rotate the screw clockwise to
decrease the gas flow and rotate the screw anticlockwise
to increase the gas flow. Run the appliance according
to the use instructions and let the unit operate for 10
minutes in the position of maximum power, then adjust
the screw "B" (see the "Burners" table).
3) replacement of the pilot burner nozzle (fig. 3)
Perform the following instructions:
- Unscrew the nut, pressing the biconical coupling "C"
- Remove the pilot nozzle "D" and replace it with the
nozzle suitable to the type of used gas (see the "Burners"
table).
- The diameter of the nuzzle is shown in its body
- After replacing the nozzle, tighten the nut pressing the
biconical coupling "C".
After having changed the nozzle, specify the new gas type
on the plate.
CHECKING THE OPERATION
- Run the appliance according to the use instructions.
- Check the appliance's seal gasket.
