i DDTV(R) Mode
Dual-chamber DDD(R) pacing with triggered ventricular pacing.
Both chambers are paced at the basic rate (DDTV) or at the sensor-
driven rate (DDTVR) in the absence of intrinsic activity. A sensed P
wave inhibits atrial pacing and initiates ventricular pacing after the
programmed AV delay. A sensed R wave triggers ventricular pacing
and inhibits atrial pacing if it occurs outside the AV delay.
This mode allows triggered ventricular pacing while maintaining
atrioventricular synchronization.
This mode is not intended to be programmed permanently.
i DDTAV(R) Mode
Dual-chamber DDD(R) pacing with triggered pacing in both
chambers.
Both chambers are paced at the basic rate (DDTAV) or at the
sensor-driven rate (DDTAVR) in the absence of intrinsic activity.
A sensed P wave triggers atrial pacing and ventricular pacing after
the programmed AV delay.
A sensed R wave triggers ventricular pacing and inhibits atrial pacing
if it occurs outside the AV delay.
This mode is not intended to be programmed permanently.
7.2. RATES
i Basic rate
The basic rate is the pacing rate in the absence of sensed events. If
the patient's spontaneous rate falls below this limit, the pacemaker
takes over.
Special case: If rest rate or hysteresis is programmed, the lower limit
of the intrinsic rate may reach a value below the basic rate.
