Contraindications: The use of this function is contraindicated if
heart function is compromised by undue accelerations in the paced
rate, and particularly in the event of: 1. Severe coronary insufficiency.
2. Severe aortic stenosis. 3. Frequent ventricular arrhythmia.
4. Advanced cardiomyopathy.
Programming constraint: When this function is programmed, the
Fallback mode switching and Smoothing functions are automatically
activated and the Acceleration and Hysteresis functions are
automatically deactivated.
i Preventing AA: Acceleration on PAC
The Acceleration on PAC function is a function that prevents atrial
arrhythmia, intended to reduce occurrences of Premature Atrial
Complexes (PAC). On each frequent isolated PAC, the pacing rate is
-1
increased by approximately 5 min
, within the rate limits calculated
by the device.
Contraindications: The use of this function is contraindicated if
heart function is compromised by undue accelerations in the paced
rate, and particularly in the event of: 1. Severe coronary insufficiency.
2. Severe aortic stenosis. 3. Sustained ventricular arrhythmia.
4. Advanced cardiomyopathy.
Side effect: Palpitations are possible. This function may actually
induce high pacing rates after a premature atrial complex.
Programming constraint: When this function is programmed, the
Fallback mode switching and Smoothing functions are automatically
activated and the Acceleration and Hysteresis functions are
automatically deactivated.
i Protecting the ventricles against AA: Mode switching
The Mode switching function is designed to avoid prolonged
ventricular pacing at a high rate for the entire duration of sustained
atrial arrhythmia, by conversion to DDI(R) mode.
