INFORMATION
Please note that the Ottobock Joint Bar Systems, due to different align-
ment parameters such as the created forefoot load or flexion, are sub-
jected to increased load.
Please observe the following processing instructions:
3.1 Bending the joint bars
The bending radius should be at least 20mm.
While bending, ensure that no bending load is applied on joint heads so as
to prevent the knee joints from premature wear or damage.
To enable you to identify this area we have laser etched dotted lines on both
upper and lower joint bars indicating not to bend within this area.
3.2 Heating the joint bars
All joint bars are heat treated. The aluminum joint bars should not exposed
to temperatures exceeding 150 °C (318 °F), the steel joint bars should not
be exposed to temperatures exceeding 300 °C (572 °F).
3.3 Drill holes
It is permitted to drill holes into the joint bars up to dia. 5mm and the hole
must be positioned centrally of the joint bar. Never repair or fill the drill holes.
