3) Fasten the screw (15) and bearing nut (6) and secure the screw connec­
tion with Loctite® 241 or tighten to the specified torque value (see table).
4) Fasten the joint on the joint bars (23) using the countersunk head
screws (22) and secure the screw connections with Loctite® 241 and
tighten to the specified torque value (see table).

► Before loading the orthosis, verify that the temporary switch is in the
desired position.
► Avoid accidentally opening or engaging the lock.
► Instruct the patient in the correct usage of the system joints.
A temporary switch (17Y162=*) which can be subsequently installed in the
system knee joint is included as an accessory for the system knee joint. The
temporary switch prevents the lock from engaging, e.g. while cycling. To
install the temporary switch, please follow the assembly instruction
(647G103).
7 Cleaning
After contact with water containing salt, chlorine or soap, or when they get
dirty, the system joints must be cleaned promptly.
1) Rinse the system joints with clean fresh water.
2) Dry the system joints with a cloth or allow to air dry. Avoid exposure to
direct heat (e.g. from an oven or radiator).
8 Maintenance
INFORMATION
The product may be exposed to increased loads by the patient.
► Shorten the maintenance intervals according to the expected loads.
The manufacturer requires at least a semi-annual inspection of the product
to verify functionality and check for wear.
