The 3 universal Be Save

The lids may be used to re-heat your
food in the microwave. However, be
careful to NEVER microwave a container

vacuumized.
The lids must NEVER be used
in a conventional oven.
To use the universal lids,
place the lid on to your container,
keeping it centred. Check that the
green seal is properly in contact with
the lip of the container before starting
the vacuum process.
Ensure that the containers used (pans,
salad dishes, bowls, mugs, jars, etc) can
withstand the vacuum process. Never
use containers that are flexible, too thin
or made from fragile materials (glass,
porcelain, etc). If you are unsure, do not
use the container.
Containers with spouts are not suitable
for vacuumization.
Any containers used must be round

and have a lip that is perfectly smooth
and as even as possible. Do not use a
container that is chipped, even if only
slightly, as this will result in air leakage.
Do not use containers with a lip that
protrudes excessively or that is too
pointed or sharp, as this could damage
the lid seals.
When vacuumizing containers with
very thin lips, the seal may come away
from its groove. This does not affect
airtightness in any way.
It is recommended that you clean the
lids with a sponge and a few drops of
washing-up liquid, as repeated washing
in the dishwasher may eventually
tarnish the plastic and affect the
efficiency of the lids.

N.B. If a vacuum does not form, press
down on the lid so that the vacuum can
be created. If this still does not work, it
may be that container is too buckled.
To check this, turn the container over
and place it on to a perfectly flat,
smooth table and check that it makes
completely even contact with the table.
If the gap is too large, a vacuum will not
form. In case of uncertainty, do likewise
with a container that does work, in
order to compare (see picture L).
