Safety information
Protection against risk to your hearing
The D11 and FC11 handsets are equipped with an additional loudspeaker at
the back of the housing for hands-free mode...
CAUTION
Never hold this loudspeaker (at the back of the device (ring tone,
hands-free) directly to your ear!
A level of more than 80 dB(A) as measured at the sound source can
be reached when signalling a call and in open listening mode
(hands-free mode) and may cause permanent hearing damage if the
distance between the loudspeaker and the ear is too small, or if this
exposure occurs very often.
Protection against interference with medical implants
At the time of writing there is no scientifically proven evidence of any health
hazard posed by the radiation generated by DECT™ handsets and
DECT™ base stations. The exposure to high-frequency radiation of a
DECT™ handset is markedly lower than the exposure due to the radiation
of a GSM mobile telephone. We never the less recommend that people
who have pacemakers or other electronic implants always wear the
DECT™ handset on the opposite side of the body to the pacemaker or im-
plant. Do not wear the handset directly above the implanted pacemaker,
e. g. in your breast pocket.
You can find further information on the internet on the web site of the Ger-
man Federal Office for Radiation Protection.
If necessary, consult your doctor.
Consult a hearing aid specialist if you have any questions regarding the
compatibility of the handset with a hearing aid.
