3 Functional description

HAT 1200 is an absolute measuring singleturn angle sensor for highly precise rotational
angle measurement in mobile machines.
The functioning method of the angle sensor is based on a contactless magnetic
scanning. The sensor system consists of two components: the permanent magnet which
is mounted free of backlash inside of the shaft, and the sensor component.
By means of four Hall sensor elements integrated in the sensor component, the sensor
detects the rotational angle of the shaft. An intelligent electronic evaluation unit converts
the value into an electrical signal and provides it as an analogue signal.

Wiring work or opening and closing electrical connections must be

Do not carry out welding if the measuring system has already been

Ensure that the area around the assembly site is protected from

Avoid any shocks (e.g. hammer-blow) on the measuring system

while mounting.
Do not bend the sensor rod

Do not install the measuring system next to magnetic fields.

Do not open the measuring system.

The measuring system contains electrostatically endangered circuit
elements and units which can be destroyed by improper use.
Touching the measuring system connection contacts with bare fingers
must be avoided, resp. the appropriate ESD protective measures are
applicable.
 Disposal
If disposal has to be undertaken at the end of a device's lifespan, the
respective applicable country-specific regulations must be taken into
consideration.
