8. Preparations for Commissioning

The model ship „Wavebreaker EVO" is delivered ready for operation. Only a few steps are required for commissioning.
Before taking the model into operation, read each section carefully. The stages are illustrated for better
understanding.
Please note that the numbers in the text always refer to the components in the illustration to the right.
Only carry out the steps described in the different sections if you have completely understood the procedu-
re and know exactly what to observe.
a) Charging the Drive Battery
Important!
The drive battery is charged with the charger from the scope of delivery. Since this charger does not have
any switch-off automatic, you need to supervise the charging process and disconnect the battery from the
charger in time.
• Connect the charger (figure 2, item 1) to a
proper mains socket.
• Connect the drive battery (figure 2, item 2)
to the charger cable. Observe the polarity.
The battery (figure 2, item 3) and charger
(figure 2, item 4) plug connection is protec-
ted against polarity reversal. The charging
cable retention bracket (figure 2, item 5)
must latch in the battery plug's latch (figure
2, item 6).
• Once the battery has been connected to the
charger, charging commences. Write down
or remember the starting time of charging.
• Charging is not completed automatically by
the charger.
When the battery is fully charged, it must be disconnected from the charger. You can recognise a fully charged
battery because it has heated to hand-warmth.
For a flat rechargeable battery. this is the case after approx. 4 hours. After this period at the latest, you need to
disconnect the battery from the charger. If a battery that is not fully discharged is charged, the maximum permissible
charging time reduces accordingly.
