12.3 Adjusting the coil springs
The coil springs act as a safety
device.
If you hit an obstacle (e.g. pavement), the
snow plough will swing forward. This
dampens the impact.
Risk of injury.
If the coil springs are made tighter
than the setting recommended by
VIKING, any impact will be harder.
Note
The setting must be the same for
both coil springs. Do not use
differing coil spring settings.
Recommended setting:
D = 48 mm
Adjustment procedure:
● Put the snow plough in the transport
position. (
10.2)
● Loosen lock nut (1) while holding
adjustment screw (2).
● Hold the adjustment screw (1) and set
the distance (D) by turning the
adjustment nut (3).
● Tighten the lock nut (2).
● Repeat this procedure on the other
side.

retaining ring (1) (lower edge) and the
washer (2) (upper edge).
Adjustment procedure:
● Loosen the lock nut (3).
● Adjust the length of the cable by turning
adjustment screw (4) so that the

● Tighten the lock nut (3).
● Perform the check again. Repeat the
adjustment procedure if necessary.
